Don't use Javascript to Display RSS Feeds

If you use Javascript to display RSS feeds on your website you will miss out on all the benefits that displaying RSS feeds has on your search engine rankings and traffic.

Javascript is currently the easiest way to display RSS feeds on your website and there are many free services which will do it for you but search engine spiders and robots cannot read Javascript and will simply ignore the contents of the RSS feed you are displaying.

As far as the human visitors to your website are concerned an RSS feed displayed with Javascript will look much the same as an RSS feed displayed in any other way but as far as search engine optimization, rankings and traffic is concerned there are no advantages gained by displaying an RSS feed with Javascript.

Your main reason for wanting to display RSS feeds on your website may be to provide useful content for your website visitors but by displaying RSS feeds correctly (i.e. displaying RSS feeds without using Javascript) you can dramatically improve your search engine traffic.

By using Javascript to display RSS feeds you will miss out on the following search engine benefits

1. When an RSS feed is correctly displayed search engines will see your website as being updated whenever the RSS feed is updated. If the RSS feed is being displayed with Javascript the search engine will not see that your website has been updated. Websites which are regularly updated with fresh content rank significantly higher in the major search engines.

2. When an RSS feed is correctly displayed search engines see the content of the RSS feed as part of your website so any relevant keywords in the feed will help boost the relevance of your page. If you use Javascript to display RSS feeds the search engines ignore the contents of the RSS feed altogether.

With RSS Feed Guide you will learn the right way to display RSS feeds on your website and benefit from the considerable improvements that this can give to your website's search engine rankings and traffic.
